Ansett Virtual was established by a number of real world Ansett staff, including Pilots, Ramp Workers, Engineers and Administrators. Since then we have been joined by a very wide variety of flightsim and Ansett enthusiasts. Our base of operations is in beautiful Melbourne, Australia, but we are pleased to have members from all over the world who share an interest in what was once the World's Greatest Airline.

 What is a virtual airline?

A virtual airline is simply an online community for aviation and flightsim hobbyists. Rather than fly aimlessly around in space, some choose to fly the scheduled routes and services of their favourite real world airline. In our case, it is Ansett Australia and their Star Alliance partners.

What can membership do for me?

At the very least, membership will put you in touch with fellow hobbyists and afford you the opportunity to exchange information, learn new skills and develop your interest in flight simulation into a very rewarding experience.

Fleet Progression

Ansett VA will be developing it's fleet over time as new aircraft are brought out. We realise that we have to move forward and whilst remaining true to the original Ansett, we also realise the need to add to the original fleet. Our routes are original Ansett flights, and by using CAT classes rather the aircraft type, we are able to satisfy the majority of our members.

What does Ansett VA offer?

The most obvious aspect of this fantastic VA is that fact that we are a community that enjoys a common thing, FLIGHTSIM. Our forum is full of friendly people that are all too happy to help with any question asked, regardless of whether it's Ansett related or not.
